100 Questions To Build An Living, And Breathing Character In An Hour

Here I am giving you my worksheet to create an in-depth character for any acting audition or gig.

It would be a great tool for your as an actor:

If you feel all the characters that you play seem similar?

Are you struggling to bring depth to your characters?

Does script not give enough meat to your character?

Don’t know how to make your character stand out in auditions?

Just get this worksheet and answer these simple 100 questions about your character, and you will know everything there is to know about the character.

It has helped me create several well-detailed, most accurate, and unique characters for my plays, auditions, shows, and independent films.

What Do You Get in 100 Questions To Build Character Worksheet?

After years of different acting class and workshop, I realized that each character could be found if you these four things:

  1. Physiology
  2. Psychology
  3. Sociology
  4. Past

My acting coaches used to say if you ask the right question, you get the right ideas.

So I did my little analysis to find those right questions that would help me learn these four dimensions of a character.

That’s when I came up with these 100 questions.

The whole worksheet is divided into seven parts:

  1. The Basics
  2. Growing Up
  3. Past Influences
  4. Beliefs And Opinions
  5. Relationship With Others
  6. Likes And Dislikes
  7. Self Image, etc.

On the whole, these seven parts make the four dimensions of a character which I mentioned earlier.

By answering questions from these seven parts, you will learn more about character than just reading the script.

How Will It Help You In Your Preparation?

Preparation is everything for an actor because they bring your ideas together to create a meaningful performance.

As I said earlier, by asking the right questions, you get the right ideas.

This where this worksheet will help you.

It will act as a bible for your character, which you can refer to whenever in doubt.

All the questions are relatively straightforward. If you have read the script in detail, you will be able to answer it quickly.

Also, some questions will make you think like the character. This way, you will be able to add those things that are not in the script.

I have used it probably million times for auditions, plays, acting gigs, and even for my writing gigs as a dialogue writer for tv shows.

Once you finish, you will understand what your character wears, what they eat, how they walk, how they talk, whom they like, whom they hate, their comfort zone, and many other things.

All you have to do is spend 2-3 hours on the worksheet and answer all questions.

How Do You Use The Worksheet?

It is really simple. Just print it out and with the help of pen or pen just answer the questions.

Worksheet has blank space which you can fill using a pen or pencil.

Just take a look at the snapshot.

A Look Inside The Worksheet

I personally use a pencil because it helps me change my answer whenever I discover something more interesting about the character.

Sometimes I get more unique answers or ideas to a question while answer some different questions.

This is a great beauty of this worksheet, it is great idea generator.
